Question 1083581: X^2 + x + 1 = 0. 5x^2 - 5x - 6 = 0. 9x^2 - 6x + 1 = 0
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
X^2 + x + 1 = 0. 5x^2 - 5x - 6 = 0. 9x^2 - 6x + 1 = 0
x=(1/2)(-1+/-sqrt (1-4))=(1/2)+/- i * sqrt (3)
5x^2-5x-6=0
x=(1/10)(5+/-sqrt(25+120))=(1/10)(5+/-sqrt(145))
9x^2-6x+1=0
this factors into a perfect square (3x-1)^2=0, so x=(1/3)
1-2+1=0 checks.
One graph (the first problem) has no x-intercept, and the other has numerical roots of about 1.7 and -0.7.
