: In any triangle, the sum of the measures of the angles is 180 degrees. In Triangle ABC, angle A is three times as large as angle B and also 16 degrees larger than angle C. Find the measure of each angle. This question is from textbook Algebra Structure and Method - Book 1

Let angle b=x
so angle a =3x (3 times larger than b)
because of the angle sum of a triangle, c = 180-x-3x
=180-4x
angle a is 16 degrees larger than c so angle c+16 =angle a
3x(angle a)=180-4x(angle c) + 16
3x=196-4x
7x=196
x=28
x was equal to b so b=28 degrees
a=3 times 28 = 84
c is a-16= 84-16=68
