what equation would you use to determine the number of years (x) it will take to equal zero(y) if starting amount is y=5.1 and each year y reduces by .3?
:
y = 5.1 - .3x; is the equation
to find the value of x when y = 0
0 = 5.1 - .3x
.3x = 5.1
x = 5.1/.3
x = 17 yrs for y to equal 0
