Simplify. Identify any x values for which the expression is undefined :
#1).
the expression is undefined when the denominator = 0, therefore find x when
x^2 - 12x +36 = 0
factors to
(x-6)(x-6) = 0
when x = 6 the expression undefine
:
Same with this one
#2).
4x^2 - 81 = 0
this is the "difference of squares, it factors to:
(2x - 9)(2x + 9) = 0)
2x = +9
x = 4.5
or
2x = -9
x = -4.5; makes the expression undefined
