Question 1011018: A truck driver needs to make four deliveries, all on the same street where his warehouse is located. He drives south 6 blocks, north 2 blocks, south 1 block, and north 8 blocks before driving back to the warehouse. How many blocks does he need to drive from his last delivery to get back to the warehouse?
Answer by fractalier(6550) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Well if we call driving north positive and driving south negative, we have
-6 + 2 - 1 + 8 = 3
That means he ends up 3 blocks north of where he started.
Thus he will drive 3 blocks south to get back to the warehouse.
