Question 252891: If a^2 b = 12^2 , and b is an odd integer, then a could be divisible by all of the following EXCEPT
(A) 3 (B) 4 (C) 6 (D) 9 (E) 12

b has to be one of the factors of 12^2
12^2=144
144 has factors 3*4*3*4
If b is an odd integer, it has to be either 3 or 9.
If b is 3 or 9 then a^2 becomes 4*4 or 3*4*4 and a would be either 4 or 4sqrt3
and a would not be divisible by 3,6,9, nor 12
However if the question were about a^2 and b were 3 then the answer would be only 9.
