Question 188692: I am having a difficult time with finding the formula for additive counting and finding the answer the following problem. Could someone please show me using the correct formula how to solve this problem. The question is: How many counting numbers less than 46 are divisible by 3 or 5.

There is noformula. You have to list them and count them.
3,6,9,12,15,....,45
5,10,15,20,,,,45
-----------------------
Count the number of different numbers. Do not count duplicates twice.
