If is a positive integer,
is the product of two consecutive integers,
so one of those integers must be even,
so the product must be even.
Either is even,
with being a positive integer,
and is a multiple of 2,
or dividing by 2 there is a quotient and a remainder {1} .

x^2 - x = x * (x - 1)
:
1) if x is even then we have the product of an even and an odd number which is even

2) if x is odd then we have the product of an odd number and an even number which is even

In both cases(1 and 2) we have an even number which is divisible by 2
