so, in 71.375 the 7 to the right of the decimal is the hundredth place.
Using the digit to the right of it, determine to round up or round down
if 5 or more, round up
if 4 or less, remain the same
so, 71.375 rounds up to 71.38
For 167.833, the first 3 to the right of the decimal is the hundredth place.
Using the digit to the right of it, 3 indicates to stay the same
167.833 rounds to 167.83
