You didn't say what you were taking the volume of, however in regular shapes like cubes and cylindars V=(Area of the Base)(height)
In a cube the base is a square and its area is A=s%5E2.
Therefore the volume of the cube is V=s%5E2h
If you double s v=%282s%29%5E2h==>V=4s%5E2h
The volume is quadrupled.
For a cylindar V=pi%28r%29%5E2h
Double the sides and V=pi%282r%29%5E2h==>V=4%28pi%29r%5E2h
Again the Volume is quadrupled.
