47 is prime so it has only two factors, itself and 1

49=7%5E2 so it only has two prime factors, 7 and 7, plus itself and 1. But you can't really call 1 a factor, so this has just 3 factors

52=2%2A2%2A13 and has three prime factors, 2, 2, and 13, plus itself and 1. Therefore 4 factors.
