Question 1183534: solve for x 6x+4y=15,12x-3y=10

Answer by Solver92311(821)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

(1)    6x +  4y = 15
(2)   12x -  3y = 10

Multiply (1) by 3 and (2) by 4:

(3)   18x + 12y = 45
(4)   48x - 12y = 40

Add the two equations eliminating the 'y' terms:

(5)   66x +  0y = 85  => 66x = 85

Solve for 'x'

(6)     x = 85/66
