for this u need to make 3 circles that overlap in the middle
Top circle will be T for tutors
Left bottom circle will be C for Not Attending class
right bottom circle will be H for No homework
with all 3 circles drawn on paper, u will see the middle space is overlapped by all 3 circles. and 8 goes there because there were "8 failed for all three reasons."
for circles T and C, 14 students were in common so 14-8=6 this fills in the portion that has only C and T overlapping
for circles T and H, 15 students were in common so 15-8=7 this fills in the portion that has only T and H overlapping
for circles H and C, 20 students were in common so 20-8=12 this fills in the portion that has only H and C overlapping
35 for not attending class in total
35-8-6-12= 9 students who only failed to not attending class
25 for not visiting tutors
25-8-7-6= 4 students who only failed to not visiting tutors
30 for not doing homework
30-8-7-12= 3 students who only failed to do homework
9+4+3+6+7+12+8= 49 students out of 65 total failures
so 65-49= 16 students that failed for other reasons
you should now be able to answer every question asked.
