Question 999590: #3
Your staff has planned a field trip to the Children’s Museum.
The Museum is 100 miles away from your center.
You will be taking 42 children and the admission is $6.00 per child.
The children will eat their meals at the museum and will need $4.00 for lunch. It is a deal with the museum and child care center visitors.
Your van gets 20 miles per gallon and gas is $3.95 a gallon. You will be taking 3 buses from the center.
You want to charge the families the actual cost of the trip, including the admission, meal and transportation.
What would be the charge per child? $11.41

No, I think you only charged for the bus trip to the museum and not the return trip.
So if you double the cost that you allocated for the buses, you'll have the correct answer.
