Question 998068: 7 2/5 - 4 7/12
Answer by fractalier(6550)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The old way is to find the common denominator...here that is 60...
7 2/5 - 4 7/12 =
7 24/60 - 4 35/60
We have to borrow one from the 7 and make it 6, thus adding 60/60...
6 84/60 - 4 35/60 =
2 49/60
