Hi there,
make the width = x
so the length is = 3x - 12
Perimeter = 2 x Length + 2 x Width
176 = 2(3x - 12) + 2x
176 = 6x - 24 + 2x
Collect like terms
6x + 2x = 176 + 24
8x = 200
x = 25
Width = 25 inches
Length = 63 inches
