Question 967419: Suppose a bike rental cost $4 plus $1.50 per hour.

A)

Total Cost = (hourly rate)*(number of hours) + Fixed Initial Cost
y = 1.50x + 4

So the equation is y = 1.50x + 4

-------------------------------------------------------

B)

Plug in x = 12 to find y

y = 1.50x + 4
y = 1.50*12 + 4
y = 18 + 4
y = 22

It will cost $22 total to rent the bike for 12 hours.
