Share $360.00 between Ben and Roy that Roy gets $48.00 more than Ben. What is Ben's share?
------
r = b + 48
-----
r + b = 360
----
Substitute for "r" and solve for "b"::
b+48 + b = 360
2b = 312
b = $156 (Ben's share)
