How much 20% HCI solution and 40% hci solution must be mixed together to make 400 millileters of 35% hci solution
-------------
Equation:
acid + acid = acid
-------------------------------
0.20x + 0.40(400-x) = 0.35*400
-------
20x + 40*400 - 40x = 35*400
-20x = -5*400
x = (1/4)400
x = 100 ml (amt. of 20% solution needed)
400-x = 300 ml (amt. of 40% solution needed)
