Question 926382: On a class trip, there were 45 more girls than boys. The total number of students on the trip was 211. Write and solve and equation to find the number of girls and the number of boys on the trip.
Answer by JulietG(1812) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
G + B = 211
G = B + 45
(B+45) + B = 211
2B + 45 = 211
2B = 166
B = 83
If there are 83 boys, then there are 83+45 girls, or 128 girls
83 + 128 = 211 total
