Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x= No of kids
y= No of adults

1.00 x -1.00 y = 8.00 .............1

3.00 x + 7.50 y = 45.00 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by 7.50
Multiply (2) by 1.00
7.50 x -7.50 y = 60.00
3.00 x + 7.50 y = 45.00
Add the two equations
10.50 x = 105.00
/ 10.50
x = 10.00
plug value of x in (1)
1.00 x -1.00 y = 8.00
10.00 -1.00 y = 8.00
-1.00 y = 8.00 -10
-1.00 y = -2.00
y = 2.00 1
x= 10 No of kids
y= 2 No of adults
