Question 841305: S=50x+450
50 is the rate paid for each appliance sold
x is the number of appliances sold,
450,is the base pay per month
S is the salary
You are offered the option of choosing a yearly salary of $45,000 or continue working on commission.
A. Using the equation from problem #1, how many appliances do you have to sell per year in order to match this salary? (Hint: $450 is the base pay per month, not year. Multiply the base pay by 12 to represent a full year.)
B. If you currently average 74 appliance sales per month, which option should you choose?
So, if I am thinking correctly..
A. 45,000 = 50x + 5400
39,600 = 50x
792 = x
B I would choose working on commission because of selling average 74 appliances sold per month ,but if I worked on salary the sells would be 66 appliances sold per month.
OKAY NOT SURE IF ANY OF THIS IS CORRECT!!!!!!

Hi,
at 74/mo 0r 888/yr
Annual Compensation(On commission) would be:
= $49,800
Interesting You would break down the salary of $45,000 offered.
Unless 'other' perks come with it...Salary is definitely less money/year
