Hi,
Let x and y represent the number of white and yellow sweaters respectively
x + y = 17 0r
11.95x + 11.50y = $198.65
11.95x + 11.50(17-x) = 198.65 |solving the system of EQs by substitution
.45x = 198.65 - 195.50
.45x = 3.15
x = 7 and y = 10 (17-7)
CHECKING our answer***
= $198.65
