Question 825354: Alexander wanted to purchase a bicycle that costs $240. He made this table to show how much money he had in the first 4 months of saving money.
Month Amount of Money
1------ $140
2------ $155
3------ $170
4------ $185
I SEE IT INCREASES BY $15 AND THOUGHT IT WOULD BE y= 4x + 15 but when you to do the math it doesn't work. Please help

---
given the x,y data table:
1 140
2 155
3 170
4 185
---
to solve the linear equation, copy and paste the above x,y data table:
into the input box of the linear regression solver here:
https://sooeet.com/math/linear-regression.php
---
the data is perfectly linear according to the linear regression:
---
result:
y-intercept = (0, 125)
slope = 15
---
answer:
the slope-intercept form of the regression line:
y = 15x + 125
---
interpretation:
---
he saves $15 by the end of each month, but he starts out with $125 already in the savings account
