Answer by TimothyLamb(4379)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y = -x + 3
y - 2x = 6
---
y - 2x = 6
-y = -2x - 6
---
y = -x + 3
-y = -2x - 6
---
add:
0 = -3x - 3
3x = -3
---
x = -1
y = 4

Using one of the three methods, solve the system.
y=-x+3 and y-2x=6
------
y = -x+3
y = 2x+6
------
Substitute and solve for "x":
-x+3 = 2x+6
3x = -3
x = -1
-----
Solve for "y":
y = -x+3
y = -(-1)+3
y = 4
