Selling cards at a fair. Cards cost $.50 ea and booth costs $20. Selling cards in sets of 12 for $10.20. How many sets of cards do I need to sell to cover my costs?
-------
Cost(x) = 20 + 0.5x dollars
--------
Revenue(x) = (x/12)10 dollars
--------------------------------
Breakeven occurs when cost = revenue::
Equation::
20 + 0.5x = (x/12)10
-----
Multiply thru by 12 to get
240 + 6x = 10x
4x = 240
x = 60 cards
------
# of sets of 12 = 60/12 = 5
