You aren't explaining this very well, but I'm guessing you mean that you have one of those problems where they say 6 pencils and 2 tablets cost some amount, and then 4 pencils and 3 tablets cost some other amount, then they want you to figure out the cost of one pencil and the cost of one tablet.

represent the cost of one of the items,
represent the cost of the other item,
and
bet the two different numbers of item 1, and

Let's say the problem is:
14 bikes cost $1050 what does one bike cost?
1050/14=75
Each bike costs $75
Total cost divided by number of items gives the cost of one item
