How do I graph the solution set of x<-7??? Someone PLEASE HELP!!

It depends on whether you are graphing on a NUMBER LINE or on an
XY-GRAPH. I'll show you both ways:

1. If you are graphing on a NUMBER LINE then this is the way:

Start with a number line:

------------------------------------------------------------
 -10  -9  -8  -7  -6  -5  -4  -3  -2  -1   0   1   2   3   4

Put a circle at -7: 

---------------o--------------------------------------------
 -10  -9  -8  -7  -6  -5  -4  -3  -2  -1   0   1   2   3   4

Then remember the rule "Less is Left, and gReateR is Right".  

x < -7 is Less, so we shade the line Left of the "o", and put an
arrowhead on the end.

 -10  -9  -8  -7  -6  -5  -4  -3  -2  -1   0   1   2   3   4

2. If you are to graph x < -7 on an XY-GRAPH, then forget that 
and do it this way:

First draw a vertical line through -7 on the x-axis. However 
you MUST to draw it DOTTED.  I can only draw SOLID lines here, 
but you can draw it DOTTED on your paper.



Then you shade the area to the left of that vertical line, like
this:
 


Don't forget to draw your vertical line dotted and not solid
as I have it here. What I have drawn above is the graph of 
x < -7, not x < -7.  When you have < or > you must 
draw the vertical line solid, but otherwise you must draw 
it dotted.
