Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
use synthetic division to find the quotient and remainder
(4x^3-6x+5)/(x-3)
:
You have to have each degree represented, add 0 in the x^2 position:
:
.....________________
+3 | 4 + 0 - 6 + 5
...............12 + 36 + 90
......____________________
.........4 + 12 + 30 + 95
:
So we have 4x^2 + 12x + 30; Remainder: 95/(x-3)
