Difference between the numbers is 8 and sum is 50.
Let the numbers be x and y

x - y = 8
or, y = x - 8

x + y = 50
Substituting for y as x - 8, 
x + x - 8 = 50
2*x = 50+8 = 58

x = 29
Therefore y = x - 8 = 21

The two numbers are 29 and 21.
