Question 721832: A vendor learned that, by pricing caramel apples at $1.75 sales will reach 57 caramel apples per day. Raising the price to $2.75 will cause that sale to fall to 13 caramel apples per day. Let y be the number of caramel apples the vendor sells at x dollars each. Create a linear equation that models the number of caramel apples sold per day when the price is x dollars each. Then determine how many apples will sell per day if the cost is lowered to $1.50.
Answer by josmiceli(19441)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The given points are:
( x1,y1 ) = ( 1.75, 57 )
( x2,y2 ) = ( 2.75, 13 )
-------------------
Use the point-slope formula

answer
If the cost is $1.50,

68 apples/day will sell if the price is $1.50/apple
---------------
check:
Does the line go through ( 1.75, 57 ) ?

OK
