LET X & (X+1) BE THE 2 CONSECUTIVE NUMBERS.
X+(X+1)=3X-14
2X+1=3X-14
2X-3X=-14-1
-X=-15
X=15 ANS. FOR THE SMALLER NUMBER.

15+(15+1)=3*15-14
15+16=45-14
31=31
