A carnival made exactly 200$ in one afternoon. Tickets for adults cost $20. Tickets for children cost $15. How many combinations of adult and children's tickets could have been sold? What are the combinations.
------
Value Equation:
20a + 15c = 200 dollars
-----
4a + 3c = 40
------
a = (-3/4)c + 40
-----
If a is to be a whole number "c" must be divisible by 4
-----
If c = 4, a = 37
If c = 8, a = 34
If c = 12, a = 31
See the pattern?

Stan H.
