Question 696647: I am not understanding this problem I could use some help. I know it seems like alot but this is 1 question.
You planned a trip with your best friend. You had only four days for your trip and planned to travel x hours each day.
The first day you stopped for sightseeing and lost 2 hours of travel time. The second day you gained 1 hour because you did not stop for lunch. On the 3rd day you traveled well into the night and double you planned travel time. On the 4th day you traveled only a fourth because your friend got sick. You averaged 45 mile per hour the first 2 days. and 48 miles per hour the last 2 days.

A. How many hours in terms of X did you travel the first 2 days?

B. How Many hours in terms of X did you travel the last 2 days ?
C. Express the total distance D traveled over the four days as an equation in terms of X Simplify the equation. Recall that distance= average rate times time
D.Write an equation that expresses the total distance y you would have traveled had you traveled exactly x hours each day at the average speed indicated above. Simplify the equation.

You planned to travel hours total during the days
(a)
The first day you lost 2 hours of travel time, so you actually
traveled for hrs
(b)
The 2nd day, you traveled for hrs
(c)
The 3rd day, you traveled for hrs ( double the planned time )
(d)
The 4th day, you traveled ( one-fourth the planned time )
------------
Day 1, rate was mi/hr
Day 2, rate was mi/hr
Day 3, rate was mi/hr
Day 4, rate was mi/hr
---------------------------
(A)
The 1st 2 days, you traveled for
hrs
(B)
The last 2 days you traveled for
hrs
(C)

mi
(D)
You would have traveled hrs the 1st 2 days, and
hrs the last 2 days
