6a + 4s = 14
4a + 6s = 13.50

Multiply thru the top equation by 2
Multiply thru the bottom equation by 3
----
12a + 8s = 28
12a + 18s= 40.5
---------------------
Subtract and solve for "a":
10s = 12.5
s = $1.25 (price of one salad)

Solve for "a":
4a + 6s = 13.5
4a + 7.5 = 13.5
4a = 6
a = $1.50 (price of one glass of apple juice)
