Answer by dfrazzetto(283) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
total distance = 264
Speed of snail 1 = x
Speed of snail 2 = x + 6
total time, t = 22
composite speed = snail 1 + snail 2 = 2x + 6
d = speed x time
264 = (2x + 6)(22)
12 = 2x + 6
2x = 6
x = 3
Snail 1 speed = 3 cm/min
Snail 2 speed = 9 cm/min
