You can put this solution on YOUR website!
eggs are sold in boxes.
A small box holds 6 eggs.
A large box holds 12 eggs.
Uzma buys x small boxes of eggs and Y large boxes of eggs.
a)Write down an expression, in terms x and y,for the total number of eggs that Uzma buys
thank you i have been struggling with these sort of questions :)

The amount of eggs Uzma buys is calculated as the amount of boxes, times the amount of eggs in each box

She bought x small boxes, and since each small box holds 6 eggs, then she bought a total of x * 6, or 6x small eggs

She bought y large boxes, and since each large box holds 12 eggs, then she bought a total of y * 12, or 12y large eggs

She therefore bought a total of highlight_green%286x+%2B+12y%29 eggs, which can also be expressed as: highlight_green%286%28x+%2B+2y%29%29 eggs
