Hi, 

Two numbers  and  are such that the ratio between them is 3:5.

   or 

If one is added to the one and 7 is added to the other, ratio becomes 1:2.

    (y+7) = (6/5)y + 2

       5 = (1/5)y

       y = 25   and x = 15
