You said 27 more apples than oranges? OK. Watch. Let's use the variable "f" for the equation.
Depends on which way you want it, but... i will do this way:
(f)<---oranges + (f+27)=301.
(f) + (f+27)=301
2f + 27=301. Subtract 27 both sides.
2f=274. Divide 2 on each side.
f=137. WAIT.This F is for solving the ORANGES. YOU MUST add the 27 (since there are 27 more apples) So, APPLE=137+27, which is 164.
