The product of a number and 12 is equal to 30 plus the quotient of a number and 8.

n = the number
n*12 = 30 + n/8
Multiply by 8 to eliminate fractions.
96n = 240 + n
95n = 240
n = 240/95 = 48/19
--------------
Eliminating fractions isn't required, but it reduces the chance of errors.
