Find the x-intercepts of the graph of y = 6x^2 + x - 12.
Let y=0 then solve for "x" as follows:
6x^2+x-12=0
6x^2+9x-8x-12=0
3x(2x+3)-4(2x+3)=0
(2x+3)(3x-4)=0
x=-3/2 or x=4/3
