Question 527413: A rectangle is three times as long as it is wide. Its perimeter is 48 in . What are the rectangle’s dimensions?
Answer by Maths68(1474)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Perimeter = p=48 inches
Length = l=3w
Width = w=?
Length = l=?
2 length + 2 width = Perimeter of rectangle
2l+2w=p
2(3w)+2w=48
6w+2w=48
8w=48
8w/8=48/8
w=6
Length = l=3w = 3(6)=18
Width = 6 inches
Length = 18
Perimeter = 48
