amount of 12$ dollar beans = b
Remember: a + b = 100 which can mean: a = 100 - b
(9a + 12b)/(a + b) = 11.25
(9a + 12b)/(100) = 11.25
9a + 12b = 1125
9(100 - b) + 12b = 1125
900 - 9b + 12b = 1125
3b = 225
b = 75
Plug:
a = 100 - b = 100 - 75 = 25
25 $9 dollar beans
75 $12 dollar beans
