Answer by scott8148(6628)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
"he finds he has 53 coins" ___ d + q = 53

"for a total of $8.45" ___ 10d + 25q = 845

to eliminate, multiply the 1st eqn by either 10 or 25 and subtract from the 2nd eqn
