Question 466041: At 9:00 a.m., a truck leaves the truck yard and travels west at a rate of 45 miles per hour. At 11:00 a.m., a second truck leaves along the same route, traveling at 60 miles per hour. When will the second truck catch up to the first.
Answer by Alan3354(69443)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In 2 hours, the 1st truck goes 90 miles (45 mph * 2 hr)
The 2nd truck gains on the 1st at 15 mph (60 - 45)
90/15 = 6 hours to overtake
1100 + 6hr = 1700 hours
