Question 459706: Billy Joe and Bobby Sue were two young lovers with nothing better to do but go to a local theme park. They spent 1/10 of their funds on parking. 1/3 of their remaining funds were spent to enter the park. They spent 1/2 of the remaining cash on food. After spending 250$ on a vendotoilet they left with 1/5 of their original amount. How much did they bring to the park?
Answer by richwmiller(17219) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x equals amt at beginning
x/10=p
(x-p)/3=t for tickets
f=(x-p-t)/2
v=250
x-p-t-f-v=x/5
f = 750, p = 250, t = 750, v = 250, x = 2500
They entered with 2500 or probably 25 dollars
they spent
7.50 on food
2.50 on parking
7.50 to get in
2.50 on vendotoilet
and had 5 dollars when they left.
