Answer by jorel1380(3719)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x+y=10000
.05x+.09y=600
Multiply the second equation by 100
5x+9y=60000
5x+5y=50000
----------
4y=10000
y=2500
x=7500
He invested $7500 at 5% and $2500 at 9%.
