Answer by scott8148(6628)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the first machine fills 1000/3 cases per hour

the second machine fills 1000/5 cases per hour ___ or 200 or 600/3

together the machines fill 1600/3 cases per hour

so it takes 5000/(1600/3) hours to fill 5000 cases

15000/1600 = 75/8 or 9.375 hr
