Let x and (100ml -x) represent the amount of 50% and 20% solution respectively

 .50x + .20(100-x) = .44*100ml

Solving for x

      .30x = 24

         x = 80ml , the amount of the 50% solution. 20ml of 20% solution (100-80) 



CHECKING our Answer***

.50*80ml + .20*20ml =  40ml + 4ml = 44ml =.44*100ml
