Hi
Plan A charges .30 per check, Plan B charges 2.40 per month plus .18 per check.
Let x represent the number of checks
What number of checks will plan B cost less?
2.40 + .18x < .30x
2.40 < .12x
20 < x
When the number of checks written > 20, Plan B will cost less.
CHECKING our Answer***
$2.40 + .18*21 < $6.60
$2.40 + $3.78 < $6.60
$6.18 < $6.60
